The Beginning!
March-1994
Our father bought the initial farmland in March of '94 as a hobby. After a year of knocking down weeds and fixing fences, he bought his first herd, 6 Charolais heifers. These cattle would produce offspring for more than 30 years! With that production came the need for more land. Daddy bought more land that connected to the original farm, almost doubling the size of the farm. He added more animals like a donkey, chickens and ducks. Over the years the herd grew and shrank, but our father always loved having the cows around. They were more like pets to him than a business. He would love to call us and say "We got a new baby!" every time a new calf was born.
The Legacy
March 2025
After the passing of our father, the siblings decided to keep the farm going. We just couldn't abandon something our father built with love. We worked hard to replace broken fences and clean up the property just like we did with our dad so many years ago. We have also added 2 new registered black angus cows to our herd, with a goal to expand to more registered cattle in the future.
The Future
Our goal is to increase our herd and expand the farm, focusing on registered black angus cattle. Our hope is to have a minimum of 10 registered black angus cows with top 20% pedigree within the next few years. Our matriarch cow Rita is in the top 20% in pedigree in areas like calving ease and milk production. She is also in the top 30 percent in carcas epds and monetary value. We plan to use safe AI to keep a strong pedigree as we build the next generation of our herd.
